About Me

Lilly West (she/her) is a freelance stage manager from the suburbs of Chicago. She fell in love watching live performances as a child, but it was never the spotlight she was drawn to. In high school she learned there was a place for her backstage. There, she fell in love with stage management where her organizational, managerial, and people skills came to life. She went on to work for pre-professional theaters in her home town, including Steel Beam Theatre, Goodly Creatures, and Independent Players.

Currently, Lilly is a freshman at University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music (CCM) pursuing a BFA in stage management. She falls more in love with the craft every day as she is surrounded by like-minded individuals and industry professionals who urge her to grow. She additionally gains empathy and training for other disciplines in her field as she works in crew positions of wardrobe, scenic, and lighting.

Lilly has remained in love with theatre because of its ability for connection and collaboration. There is no other medium that is constantly living and breathing. One person can paint an image, sing a song, or write a poem, but theatre depends on a village of people. It is inherently collaborative and it is the stage manager who oversees the collaboration amongst departments. This collaboration, these people, and the art of theatre have proven to be her calling.
